Mission
The Crisis Pregnancy Centers is a Christ-Centered Ministry dedicated to:

Protecting the unborn.
Providing for those facing crisis pregnancies and post abortion trauma.
Promoting sexual abstinence until marriage

The Crisis Pregnancy Center is a Christian ministry, embodied by volunteers, which provides unconditional acceptance and assistance to women facing crisis pregnancies.

The CPC , through its three Women's Pregnancy Centers, Life Resource Center and various services, ministers to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of women, demonstrating God's character to its clients while presenting meaningful and compassionate alternatives to abortion.

The CPC also offers ultrasonography, support groups for both women and men, life skills training and material assistance, prenatal clinic services, perinatal hospice and prevention services through its SAVE Program (Sexual Abstinence Values Education).

Key Values
The CPC's foundational values are a belief in the sanctity of human life; the dignity of women and motherhood; the irreplaceable value of fatherhood, the gospel of Jesus Christ and the soundness of sexual purity, marriage and family.

Goals
The Crisis Pregnancy Centers is an outreach ministry of Jesus Christ, carried out by trained volunteers who are committed to presenting the Gospel of our Lord in word and deed to women with unexpected pregnancies. Through counseling and education based on biblical principles, we encourage women and men to consider alternatives to abortion and offer loving support and practical help to mothers faced with crucial and difficult decisions. All of our client services are free and confidential.

Our goals are:

  • To present a Christian witness to all of our clients
  • Expand the Kingdom and save the lives of the most innocent and their mothers
  • To serve women who need support during and after their pregnancies, and to teach them how to love and care for their children.
  • To educate the public (especially Christians) concerning fetology, abortion, Post Abortion Syndrome and alternatives to abortion, and to bring the witness of God’s Word to bear on these issues.
  • To minister to women and men with abortions and miscarriages in their past who are hurting and in need of reconciliation and healing through God’s forgiveness.
  • To educate the community and especially high school and junior high school students about issues of sexuality, pregnancy, and abstinence from all sexual activity until marriage.

History

In 1980, the Tucson Chapter of the Christian Action Council was formed under the leadership of Jerry Peyton, a pastor at the Vineyard Christian Community. He believed that the time had come for the Christian community to act out its faith in ministering to unborn children and their mothers in Tucson. To counter the strong presence offering abortion to women, this group of concerned individuals sought to provide an equal presence offering to help women carry to term and give birth to their babies. Thus The Crisis Pregnancy Centers (also referred to as The CPCs ) was born. Within three short months, God provided a Board of Directors, a team of committed volunteers, a house, an ad in the yellow pages, and one paid staff position.

The CPC was the third center opened by the C.A.C. (now doing business as CareNet.) It opened for business April, 1981.
